A friend of mine posted this inspiring and grounding image this morning.
A simple thought really but how many of us give up at the sign of the first obstacle? I know that I have and I think that we often do so because of how easy everything has become.
We can get anything we want. We can do whatever we feel like. Obstacles to pursuing a goal have become so easily avoidable that when we are suddenly face a more difficult situation, we give up. I find it strange that as adults we lack the perseverance to carry-out our plans while as we were children, this was the moment we were waiting for, the time when we would finally be able to do what we really wanted.
So today, I invite you to stop for a moment and think; are there things that you want to do that you have been putting off to tomorrow? If you are not able to do them now, are you at least taking the steps to be able to do those at a more opportune moment? Did you fail at something and decide you would never try again? Why? Does it really make sense?
Have courage, have faith in yourself. When something doesn’t work out the way you thought it would, learn from it. Always be opened to learning. Don’t blame yourself (or others). You can do this, you just need to go out there and try again. Being happier is a choice we make. It doesn’t always lead us down the easiest path, but in the end, if you are true to yourself and if you persevere, you will get there. Don’t give up!
